Rapid Response: The Network’s team of policy and communications experts assist elected leaders, political candidates, national security surrogates, and other organizations in understanding and articulating the important national security issues affecting the United States on rapidly evolving events.
National Security Basic Training: The National Security Network’s Briefing Memos address the most crucial policy issues facing our country. Used by candidates and elected officials, it provides policy positions, talking points, and background on key foreign policy issues. Prepared by national security experts and communications professionals, the Briefing Book is one of the most widely distributed products in the field. As part of this effort, NSN provides regular conference calls and one-on-one briefings for political leaders.
State and Local Networks: By fostering development of state and local networks, NSN aims to bring credible local voices into the national debate.. The Network currently works with active groups in Ohio, Iowa, and New York and emerging networks in Florida, Colorado, Michigan, Connecticut, California, and Oregon.
Task Force Reports: NSN is not a think tank but recognizes that important issues exist that the progressive national security community needs to address more closely. In these issue areas, NSN will put together more comprehensive policy task force reports that will aim to build consensus in the progressive national security community.Â
Security Framework Project: The National Security Network is playing a key role in facilitating coordination and deeper consultation among like-minded organizations. Already, the organization has worked with other groups to establish the Security Framework Project a budding communications hub for the progressive national security community.Â
