For Immediate Release
The National Security Network is delighted to announce that John Bradshaw will become our new executive director on October 9, 2013.
“We are very pleased that John is joining us,” said Brian Katulis, NSN Board Chair and Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress. “He will bring leadership and creativity to the next phase of NSN’s mission. He has strong experience in all sectors of foreign policy, including extensive government service and leadership in advocacy and grassroots public education. His extensive management, fundraising, and executive experience are just what the organization needs to advance a principled, effective foreign policy for the United States.”
Heather Hurlburt, who has served as NSN Executive Director since 2008, will become a Senior Adviser and continue to play an important role in NSN’s policy, outreach and messaging work.
Bradshaw, who comes to NSN from serving as Executive Director of the Enough Project at the Center for American Progress, brings nearly three decades of executive planning, administration, foreign policy and advocacy experience. He graduated Cum Laude with a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University, and earned his law degree from New York University Law School. Bradshaw has served as Washington Director at Physicians for Human Rights, Director of the Freedom Investment Project, and as a Senate Staffer, State Department Foreign Service Officer and Peace Corps Volunteer. He has extensive experience living in and working on issues in Asia and Latin America and an expertise in human rights issues surrounding torture and detention.
“I am eager to put my experience to work at the National Security Network and to help the organization build on its reputation as an indispensable player in shaping progressive national security policy,” said Bradshaw.
