The National Security Network promotes pragmatic and principled foreign policy to ensure a secure and prosperous future for the United States and restore America's legitimacy as a global leader. The Network places America's national security above partisan interests and is committed to fostering an informed public dialogue about America's role in the world.
America faces growing challenges such as terrorism, the spread of weapons of mass destruction, and instability in dangerous regions around the world.
The National Security Network's mobilization to meet these challenges is unprecedented. Network members are united by a common belief that America, and the world, would be best served by a U.S. foreign policy that renews the American tradition of global leadership.
The Network is creating an interactive dialogue among foreign policy experts, media specialists and leaders throughout America. Through its unique integration of policy development, communications, and outreach, realistic policy solutions based on America's core values emerge, making the National Security Network the leader of a new framework for U.S. national security.
Terrorism and intelligence expert Rand Beers leads the National Security Network. The Advisory Board is chaired by President Emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations Leslie H. Gelb. The work of the Network is carried out by a small professional staff, four steering committees of 40 volunteer professionals, and more than 1,000 expert and community members around the nation.
